Individual Safari Mana Pools

A self-drive tour for individual travellers to the Mana Pools National Park.

Harare > Chirundu > Rukomechi > Chirundu > Harare

Situated on a large private concession in the heart of the Zambezi Valley’s Mana Pools National Park, Ruckomechi Camp looks out from the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. It is a remote, beautiful place with spectacular views of the broad flowing river, adjoining well-defined tree canopy and the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment over the border in Zambia.

Shaded by a large grove of acacia and mahogany trees, the camp accommodates guests in ten spacious en-suite tents, including a honeymoon suite, all of which overlook the river. Each beautifully decorated tent has both indoor and outdoor showers, heated by solar geysers. The central dining, bar, library and lounge areas face the escarpment, and there is a separate deck with an infinity pool for swimming and sunbathing, and an inviting, cushion-strewn star gazing deck.

Safari Highlights

Excellent wildlife viewing in the concession and Mana Pools National Park, with hippo, buffalo and predators often sighted
See the wonders of Zimbabwe’s wildlife

A favourite amongst guests: an outdoor ‘bath-with-a-view’ in a secluded, scenic spot

The albida trees dotted through camp are beloved by elephants for their tasty pods

The trip was absolutely fantastic. Herbert is an excellent driver and a very nice person, too. He definitely contributed to making this tour a tremendous success.

Yes, Woow Alec is a wonderful person. We are at a loss of words to describe him. What a careful, defensive and helpful driver, very friendly and patient gentleman. He is one out of a million. Thank you for giving us Alec for that trip.

Thank you so much for sending us John and for the amazing city tour he took us on! He seems to know Harare like the back of his hand and took us to see the market at Mbare with many interesting sights in between. One thing we certainly have learned from that whirlwind tour: We must come back and see more!

Many thanks again and I will keep in touch!
